Purpose of the plan
»Generate a lot of self-employment and provide the infrastructure dairy sector
»Preparation of modern dairy farms and infrastructure for production of clean milk
»Heifer calf rearing for breeding and development of good breeding stock
»Bringing structural changes in the unorganized sector so that the initial processing of milk can be done at the village level
»Adoption of traditional techniques for handling milk on a commercial scale
»Topride price increase for milk through processing and production of milk products.
Who can benefit from this scheme?
Implementation Agency and Area of   Operation: The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) will be the nodal agency for implementation of the DEDS scheme in all states and union territories across the country.
Plan outline:
There is a budget provision of Rs 325 crore during the year 2019-20, of which Rs 196.99 crore under MH2404 (General Component), Rs 49.60 crore under MH2404 (General Component), Rs 25.79 crore under MH2404 (Tribal Component) and 45.70 Includes crores of rupees. Rs 4.56 crore under MH2552 (North Eastern Region) and MH2552 (SC component), Rs 2.36 crore under MH2552 (tribal component).
Eligible beneficiaries:
»Group of farmers, individual entrepreneurs, NGOs, companies, organized and unorganized sectors, etc. Organized sector groups include Self Help Groups (SHGs), Dairy Cooperative Societies, Dairy Unions, Dairy Unions, etc.
An individual will be eligible to seek assistance for all components under the scheme, but only once for each component

More than new one member of the family can be assisted under this scheme, provided they set up separate units with different infrastructure at different locations. The distance between the boundaries of such two farms should be at least 500 meters.
