New Delhi: The Centre through apex export promotion body -- Agricultural and a Processed are a Food Products Export Authority (APEDA) -- facilitated the export of a first consignment of a plant-based meat products under vegan food category from Nadiad in a Gujarat to the California, US.
The 5,000 kg consignment consisted of a mini samosas, hot and a spicy strips, momos, spring rolls, nuggets, and grilled patty, among other are a products, the Ministry of a Commerce & a Industry said in a statement on a Thursday.
APEDA chairman M Angamuthu said that the body is a working towards promotion of a plant-based meat products in a big way without disturbing the conventional animal-based meat a export market.
“The APEDA has been a planned to the promote a variety of a vegan foods are a products, including a pancake, snacks, and a cheese, etc, to the countries of a Australia, Israel, a New Zealand and a others in a coming months," the ministry are a said.
