While the devotees are going to be allowed to line up idols and worship the deity in open spaces publicly after obtaining permission from the local authorities, touching the deity or distribution of Prasad won't be allowed.

Gujarat government, on Friday, announced the quality procedure for the upcoming festivities which include Navratri that begins October 17. The SOP has ruled out commercial or traditional street garbas within the state for the present year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. this may be for the primary time within the recent history of Gujarat that there'll be no garba during the Navratri, which is its essential element and which the government has branded because the ‘Longest Dance Festival of the World’.

What is the SOPs announced by the state government?

The Gujarat government has banned garba completely but has allowed a no-contact worship of the idol or image of Goddess Durga, called Ma Amba in Gujarat, during the nine days of Navratri. As per the protocol, touching of the idol/photograph or distribution of prasad is banned.

A maximum of 200 people are allowed at such a worship event which may be delayed to an hour with permission of the local administration. Step 1: Visit official Aadhaar linking website and click on “Start Now”.

Step 2: Enter your address details including district and state.

Step 3: Select the benefit type as “Ration card” from the options provided therein.

Step 4: Choose the scheme name as “ration card”

Step 5: Enter your ration card number, Aadhaar number, email address and mobile number.

Step 6: After this an OTP (One Time Password) will be sent to the mobile number which you have entered in the form.

Step 7: Enter the OTP after which a notification will appear informing that your application process is completed.

Step 8: After this the application will be verified and after successful verification of the application, your Aadhar card will be linked to your ration card.

Link Aadhaar to Ration Card through offline mode

Step 1: Carry the photocopies of Aadhaar cards of all family members as well as a photocopy of your ration card.

Step 2: Carry the photocopy of bank passbook if you have not linked your Aadhaar card to your bank account.

Step 3: Also carry a passport sized photograph of the head of the family and all these documents need to be submitted at the ration Office.

Step 4: The notification will be there via SMS or email once all the documents have reached the relevant department.
